Title: Possibly funniest [censored] name ever
Post by: Allen-T on June 21, 2007, 09:50:10 pm
One of the Affirmative Action beasts at my wife's job was bragging today about how original [censored] are when it comes to names. She then said that she had a niece named Nyquila, and YES, she was named after the nightime flu medication. That's even funnier than that dead [censored] rapper who's momma named him after an economy way to buy toilet paper....Two Pack [Tupac, they can't spell remember?]

They seem to want these pretensious, bunged-on, made up names because of stupid ideas about "bein' kings and queens in afrikka..MMMM hmmmm"

Mind you, a lot of white people are giving their children (mostly girls) these stupid, exotic, made up names 'coz they think their stupid kid is so unique and so special they have to have a name that nobody else on earth could possibly have.

Tupac Amaru Shakur is his name..the TWO PACK thing is played. And the Nyquila (if that's how she spells it) is a *different* name. Some of the blacks I know named their children unpronouncable names in an effort to make it sound different. I have also with one of my daughters. I was 21 at the time...but luckily it isn't that bad. lol

Tupac Amaru was the name of some Maoist terrorist group in Peru.  It's not surprising that the affirmative action performing artist Toowack Shaker would have such a name.  Hey, I have an idea!  How about if I name my daughter Bader Meinhof, or my son Al Qaeda?

True story about how Chynna Phillips of Wilson-phillips got her name:

Her parents were non other than John and Michelle Phillips from the Mamas and the Papas. Michelle was into all that eastern mystic crap that was in vogue in the 60s and 70s. She wanted to call her daughter India. John being older and more cynical said "oh, for pete's sake. Why don't we just call her China or North Vietnam then?". .............

We named our middle child Nikko because at that time we hadn't been to Japan and loved the name.  Nikko  is the name of a city in Mainland Japan. I was also told while we were there that Nikko as a name means 'peaceful'.

Yes, two years before we got married and we were stationed there for 3 years 4 years after we were married. :) It was beautiful and peaceful. I'd like to go back and take our two year old and teens who didn't get a chance to experience the beauty of Okinawa.

That's Chiquita.. Prounounced the same way though. People have called her "Chickita banana", or "chicken-kita." (no reference to fried chicken folks).  She doesn't like it very much.

Imerica, correct me if I am wrong but when you pronounce your stepdaughters name the is Ch  pronounced with more of a Sh sound like Shakita?  Not that it matters but for me that would definitely be better. I can understand the fact that people give their children names they feel have importance to them but honestly if the name is pronounced like the name of the banana company isn't that setting the child up for unnecessary abuse? I am always amazed by some if the names black folks come up with for their children. I have  an aunt that worked in a hospital some years back in records and she would often speak of the more remarkable names she came across. All kidding aside are names like that  just made up or is their some basis to it regarding  black heritage?

I know for a fact the there are all kinds of agencies out there that are setting up white businesses and real estate companies by sending in resumes with these 'african' sounding names and keeping a record of what companies contact these nutty name people back for an interview. They are doing the same for people who are renting an apartment. So if you are planning to hire a new person and a reusme with the name La,Qua (yes with the comma, I had to work with a black girl that had that name) you better watch cause you may be getting set up to be dragged into court on some kind of civil rights charge.

No its CH as in CHild. Some black names are made up, some have sentimental value, and some aren't made up.

I look at the fact  that Condoleeza Rice is the Secretary of State in the WHite House right now. Her name didn't hender her one bit. Chickita, my stepdaughter wants to be a nurse when she's older, and she's also good at other things. She's 15 and WAY past all of the names she use to be called while growing up. She has one hell of a backbone. Her name is a bastardization of 'Chiquita' which in Spanish means, 'little girl'. Not "Banana". Instead of her mom adding the 'qu' she put 'ck' in its place.

So I guess it would benefit that person to hire them or not hire them based on their level of expertise. Judging people by names is crazy. There are a lot of people who would balk at the sight of a name like Chaim (because of the pronounciation problem). Would it be fair to judge him because his name is different?

For a second there, I thought that Chickita (Cyrillic: Хицкита) was a Slavic name.

Hail baby, please, I'm an honorary member of a Slavic nation! There are no Chickitas! I met a Eskimo lesbian once named Chick-eater though ;)

For a second there, I thought that Chickita (Cyrillic: Хицкита) was a Slavic name.

How about Malt Liquorita? Hmm wait that be more of Mexico

Then there is Michael Jackson's sistah...

LaToilet Jackson

LOL!

This thread keeps making me laugh.

I didn't know there are actually blacks named Chiquita. Is that supposed to be Spanish or something because the bananas come from South America. Or is the banana name supposed to laugh at stereotypical Southern sounding names like Aunt Jemima or Caribbean black names?

Chiquita means "little girl" in spanish...it has nothing to do with Bananas...unless we're using the lable on the Chiquita Banana as dictionary text now. ::)

Aunt Jemima was an actual woman.

Shaniqua
A steoreotypical name for young women living in the hood or ghetto. The common Shaniqua has a weave that is so cheap it looks like plastic,or very long thick braids. She wear extremely tight and short clothing topped of with ridiculously long heels.
Other attributes include:long nails,husky/shrill iritating voice,4 children with different fathers.

I think they gave Aunt Jemima a perm and earrings because she was an Auntie and not a chef, she was just a regular slave type and they didn't update Cream of Wheat because he was a chef I believe, doesn't he wear a hat?, if he didn't wear the chef hat he would like a black pimp on the box.
What about Uncle Ben, he always looked good.

Please take the 5th and tell us no more about your personal life because I am biting my tongue.

One time I was in the bread aisle and they have this brand of some kinda shake and bake coating stuff, I think it's called Sylvia's, which may have something to do with that resturant up in Harlem. Anyway the package has this fat smilin' black woman on it that is showin' her pearly white teeth. Some sick individual took a pen and inked out one of her front teeth ON EVERY PACKAGE!! So at first it appeared that she was actually missing a tooth, I laughed my tuchas off, then I realised it was a horrible, racist injustice against good black folks that had been perpetuated. then I laughed even harder :-[

If someone asks, JB I'll answer them. Biting your tongue about what, though? Usually if you have something to say, you say it. I'm expecting that. I won't take the 5th..I'm proud of my family.

All I have to say is you draw your own kind, if you have morals then most likely the person you are with has morals.  Don't you agree?, so be proud as you want it doesn't matter what other people are thinking.
